چکیده

In recent years exciting progress has been made in understanding how endogenous plant hormones control plant development. One of the fundamental questions in this area of research is the mechanism by which the presente of a plant hormone molecule (the signal) leads to a change in plant development (the transduction pathway). This Update will discuss progress in the genetic analysis of signal transduction for the class of plant hormones collectively known as GAs. More extensive reviews on various aspects of GA research can be found in Hooley (1994), Ross (1994), and Sponsel (1995).

Crosstalk of arabinogalactan protein, auxin, gibberellin, and callose in Al-treated Tea seedlings

Arabinogalactan proteins (AGP) are a class of cell surface plant peptidoglycans which have been implicated in root elongation and signal transduction pathways. AGPs function not only as markers of cellular identity but also as signaling molecules, which might initiate signal transduction. Aluminum promotes the elongation of tea (Camellia sinensis L.) roots. Although some mechanisms by which Al ...

Gibberellin signal transduction.

Recent studies using biochemical and genetic approaches have identified a number of components, including several negative regulators, of the gibberellin (GA) signal transduction pathway in higher plants. The basal state of GA signaling is likely to be repressive, and the GA signal seems to activate the pathway by de-repression to allow GA-stimulated growth and development.

SPINDLY, a tetratricopeptide repeat protein involved in gibberellin signal transduction in Arabidopsis.

Gibberellins (GAs) are a major class of plant hormones that control many developmental processes, including seed development and germination, flower and fruit development, and flowering time. Genetic studies with Arabidopsis thaliana have identified two genes involved in GA perception or signal transduction. A semidominant mutation at the GIBBERELLIN INSENSITIVE (GAI) locus results in plants re...

SPINDLY's role in the gibberellin response pathway.

The SPINDLY (SPY) locus of Arabidopsis thaliana is believed to be involved in gibberellin (GA) signal transduction. The six known mutations at this locus cause a phenotype that is consistent with constitutive activation of the GA signal transduction pathway. spy alleles are epistatic to gai, a mutation conferring gibberellin-insensitivity, indicating that SPY acts as a negative regulator of GA ...
